If you’re anything like me, you probably overpacked for Disney.

I spent so much time planning, organizing, and making sure we had everything we could possibly need… and honestly?

We didn’t use half of it.

After actually going through the parks with a toddler, long days, and Florida heat, I can confidently say – some things were absolute lifesavers, and others just took up space in our bag.

So here’s the real breakdown of what we actually used at Disney (and what I wouldn’t pack again).

What We Used EVERY Day (Must-Haves)

These are the items we reached for constantly—the ones that truly made our days easier.

Easy Grab-and-Go Snacks

We went through snacks WAY faster than I expected.

Some of our go-to favorites:

These were lifesavers while waiting in lines or when our toddler needed something right now.

Pro tip: Having snacks on hand saved us money AND prevented meltdowns.

Portable Charger (Non-Negotiable)

Your phone battery will drain FAST at Disney.

Between:

  • Genie+ / Lightning Lane
  • Mobile ordering
  • Photos
  • Maps

We used our portable charger multiple times a day.

I would not go to Disney without one.

Stroller Fan (Absolute Must)

This might have been our #1 most used item.

It gets HOT. Even when you don’t expect it.

Our stroller fan:

  • kept our toddler cool
  • made stroller naps possible
  • made long waits way more comfortable

If you’re bringing a stroller, this is a must.

Bubble Wands (Entertainment + Distraction)

I didn’t expect these to be such a hit – but they were.

Bubble wands:

  • kept our toddler entertained
  • distracted during waits
  • added to the “Disney magic”

Bonus: you can bring your own and save money instead of buying in the parks.

What Was Helpful (But Not 100% Necessary)

These were nice to have – but not something I’d stress about packing.

Extra Wipes + Small First Aid Items

We used wipes here and there, but not nearly as much as I expected.

Same with things like:

  • bandaids
  • small first aid essentials

Good to have, but don’t overpack.

A Small Toy or Comfort Item

We brought a couple small items for our toddler.

They were used occasionally – but honestly, Disney itself is pretty entertaining.

One small item is enough. You don’t need a whole bag of toys.

What We Didn’t Use (Don’t Pack This)

This is where I would change things next time.

Extra Toys

We packed multiple toys thinking they’d help with downtime…

They stayed in the bag the entire time.

There is SO much stimulation at Disney – you won’t need them

Blanket

This was a total miss for us. We thought we’d need it for naps or to block out the sun in the stroller.

It was:

  • way too hot
  • completely unnecessary

Unless you’re going in cooler months, skip it.

Overpacking “Just in Case” Items

I packed a few extra “just in case” things that we never touched.

Examples:

  • extra outfit changes beyond 1 backup
  • too many accessories
  • random extras I thought we might need

They just added weight to the bag.

What I’d Do Differently Next Time

If I could redo packing for Disney, I would:

✔ Pack LESS
✔ Focus on essentials
✔ Bring more snacks instead of extra items
✔ Stick to what I KNOW we’ll use

Disney days are long – you don’t want to carry around a heavy, overpacked bag.

The things that matter most:

  • keeping your kids comfortable
  • having quick snacks
  • staying cool
  • keeping your phone charged

Everything else?

You’ll likely never even touch it.

You really don’t need as much as you think for Disney.

Save This for Your Trip

If you’re planning a Disney trip soon, save this post so you don’t overpack and end up carrying things you don’t need all day.
